Yonatan Kurniawan

Yonatan Kurniawan

I am a postdoctoral fellow in the AutoDIAL lab within the Materials Science and Engineering Department at the University of Toronto. My research focuses on machine learning and active learning application for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) to accelerate the discovery and characterization of battery materials.

I am interested not only in applying machine learning (ML) to scientific problems, but also in understanding the underlying principles, limitations, and reliability of ML models through uncertainty quantification, active learning, and sloppy model analysis.

Outside of my academic pursuits, I enjoy playing the guitar, solving puzzles like Sudoku and Nonogram, and engaging in open-world RPG video games and jigsaw puzzles during my free time.

**I am seeking a full-time or postdoctoral position in machine learning and uncertainty quantification, and I require visa sponsorship to work.
